Mars has conducted its own research and development of a Sustainable Generation Plan for Generations that will contribute to significant changes in forest conservation and the implementation of effective agricultural practices.
“Despite the goals set out in the Paris Climate Agreement, global carbon dioxide emissions have continued to grow steadily over the last three years,” Grant Reed, president of Mars., told CNN, “I am optimistic and believe actions. However, we have not much time left for this. Based on my experience in Mars, I see three main areas for immediate action. First of all, you need to determine your impact on the environment. Mars has conducted its own research and development plan for Sustainable Generation for Generations, which will contribute to significant changes in forest conservation and the implementation of effective agricultural practices. More than $ 1 billion has been allocated for its implementation. Secondly, producing companies should switch from fossil fuels to renewable energy sources as soon as possible. Mars has already managed to move 53% of our global operations to solar and wind power. We plan to completely switch to clean energy by 2040. Finally, the business faces a larger and more complex goal – the sustainability of the global agricultural supply chain. Effective farming practices aimed at keeping global warming below 1.5 degrees Celsius should become a priority for both business and government. Government, business and society together are able to change the overall trajectory. Since 2019, Mars has begun to reduce its carbon footprint in the production of its products, while at the same time, the company’s business continues to grow. This confirms the possibility of transformation that does not hurt business growth. The decisive decade for humankind has already begun, and it will show whether we can save the quality of our lives and protect the future of future generations. The crucial moment has come to join forces and take action to address environmental concerns and conserve the environment. ”
